Small Successes

I recently came across a wonderful blog for stay at home moms. Every Thursday there is a blog titled Small Successes and you are supposed to list 3 accomplishments of your week thus far. Sometimes I feel like I’ve accomplished nothing, but when I think about it, I do accomplish a lot – I just never take the time to acknowledge it. So here are mine:

1. Yesterday when Jack was napping I so badly wanted to take a nap too. But I resisted and decided to tackle cleaning the bathrooms.

2. I purchased a much needed space heater for our freezing basement.

3. I got all most of my errands done yesterday.

Canned Goods

Just these past few weeks, Jack has been getting into EVERYTHING. I refuse to put locks on my cabinets and I know that it's more work for me right now, but I'm hoping it will pay off in a few weeks or so. I've cleared out all of the dangerous items and typically Jack has one spot with tupperware he can play with, but if you walked into our house at about 10 AM you might not be able to see the kitchen floor. Jack's new thing is to take out all of the canned foods and place them in a special place. One day last week, he tried to put them all in the tupperware cabinet. Then another day it was in his high chair and yesterday it was right on the floor. He's so funny because he always has such a serious look on his face. We're going to work the rest of this week on putting them back. I'll let you know how that goes.

Hopping on the blogging bandwagon

Today I decided I would start blogging. We used to have a baby home pages site - and that was great! I'm so glad I could capture my 9 months of pregnancy and Jack's entire 1st year on there, but I thought why not change it up a bit and start an official Starkey Family Blog? I was able to purchase, from babyhomepages, an entire PDF file of my site so that first year of Jack's can be cherished forever!
As most of you know, I stay at home with Jack during the days and while I am so incredibly grateful that I get to do this - there are many days when I just need some sort of mental stimulation or to feel like I am somehow communicating with adults - so that is why I am excited to start this blog.
To catch some of you up - I will now add a bunch of random pictures of our family.

Here is our very first picture as a family!

Just Jack!
