My Brother

My brother, Brendan, sustained a spinal cord injury in July 2009 at the age of 20. Technically speaking he is a C4 quadriplegic. He spent 3 1/2 weeks in the ICU at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis. He then spent 4 months at Craig Hospital in Colorado. Initially the doctor's told him that he would never be able to breath again on his own and the only movement he'd have would be to shrug his shoulders. Today, Brendan is breathing on his own, driving an electronic wheelchair, and able to move his arms. He is surpassing all of the odds and isn't about to quit now.
