Pumpkins and a Parade
We went to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago in 80 degree weather. It was a quick trip to say the least. I think we will try and carve our pumpkins this week or weekend. We haven't carved pumpkins in forever.
On Saturday the Blairs invited us up to their house and to the Anoka parade. With Anoka being the Halloween capital of the world, how could we pass it up? It was a gorgeous night. The parade was short. The kids were amazing. We all had a great time. Plus it was fun to dress the kids up in their costumes. Enjoy the pics.

Geen
When Jack was close to Finn's age and just learning his colors, he was obsessed with the color yellow. Seriously everything was "yewow" it was hilarious. And to this day if you ask him his favorite colors, he will say green and yellow. Well I have been starting to work on colors with Finn and his favorite color is green, or geen as he likes to say. It is so cute. And if it's not geen, then the next color he says is boo. ha. It's pretty cute.
The boys have been really naughty about getting into the cupboards on our new island. It doesn't help that this is where all of their snacks are too. Tom and I have been against baby locks on cupboards for the most part and just want them to learn that they can't play in there. Easier said than done now that it's not just one kid. Finn likes to dig into the cupboard with all my spices in it, take everything out and shake the sprinkles. I throw a conniption fit every time this happens. Finally, they are starting to understand we do not play in the cupboards. But now, Finn opens the spice cupboard and just waits for me to come over and scold him. Right when he sees me, he gives me this huge smile and says "hi" over and over and over. Little stinker.
This morning, Jack brought down some books to read after breakfast and I said "probably" for whatever reason. Finn kept repeating it. I had to try and get it on camera.

Mish Mash
I was pouring my 100th cup of coffee this morning and Jack said to me "I can't wait until I'm your age mom and I can drink coffee. Then when Finn is my age too we can all drink coffee together" HAHA.
On Thursday I get to be the snack mom for the day at Jack's preschool. Jack is SO. excited to bring snack and have me there all morning with him. And I'm excited to see him in his school environment. The teachers always tell me how funny he is and how talkative he is. Oh my gosh, the other day when we were at the park there were some other little boys there too. And Jack instantly started talking like a pirate to them. He would say "arghhhh, where are you going, where is the buried treasure?" ha.
Finn has been doing good too. Talking a lot more. But usually one word at a time. He did fantastic at his ECFE class last week with separating. Not one single tear! Can you believe it? I deserve it after all the stuff Jack put me through with separating. I have to call in Finn's weight next Wednesday. I haven't weighed him for a month now, but I'm hoping he's up at least a pound and a half from where he was in July (20.6 pounds).
I have been slacking with the pictures lately too. We took some at the pumpkin patch on Sunday, but I haven't had a chance to even look at them. I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but I definitely enjoy going to pick out my pumpkins in actual fall weather (50's or 60's) vs 85 degrees. Seriously, we were all just sweating.
Happy Tuesday!

Kitchen/Living Room Face Lift
I'm not sure if I'm just slowly fading out of "blogging" or if it's because I haven't really had a second to breath these last two weeks. It's probably a combo. We decided to change things up a bit over here. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
We are SO happy with the results. Not everything is complete, but at least I can get back to my routine and cooking meals instead of eating out. And not having to walk around with shoes on in fear of stepping on nails. Next up: someone is turning 30 on Friday...dun dun DUN.
And I'll leave you with two videos
