I wish I was getting a full night's sleep.
I wish Leo didn't scream bloody murder in his carseat.
I wish Leo was on more of a schedule.
I wish that the older boys didn't bicker so much.
I wish that I had more time to myself throughout the days and nights.
I wish there was more quiet time in my house.
I wish laundry would do itself and dinner would magically appear on our table at 5:45.
I wish my dog was calm.
I wish my clothes fit me.
I wish I weighed 100 pounds.
I am so happy that I have three beautiful sons.
I am thankful for a healthy family.
I am in love with my husband more and more each day.
I am realizing how fast my kids are growing up.
I am scared to let them go.
I am thankful we have food to eat and a house to live in.
I am thinking I should read more good books.
I am in need of a major diet/exercise plan after surgery.
I am looking out my front window watching a wheelchair ramp being built for my neighbor's wife and am reminded that yes, life can change in an instant.
I am going to say a few extra prayers tonight, letting God know that just because I am run down and tired from being a mom and homemaker every day, that I love my life and I really wouldn't trade it for the world.
Leo is seven weeks old today. I am still waiting for that extra long stretch of sleep to magically appear. I know it will come, but I suck at having patience. My surgery is on Thursday. I am anxious for it. I am ready for it to be done with, and I'm uber nervous about recovery. Say some prayers. Sorry I don't have any cute pics of the kiddos. I love this weather!!!!!

5 Weeks and More
Can you tell by my lack of posts that Leo has been up more during the day? We are still chugging right along here at the Starkey household. The past few nights Leo has been having his last bottle at 8:30-8:45 and not eating again until 2 AM. Which is awesome. But after he wakes for his first feeding, things don't stay very consistent. Sometimes he's up wanting to eat every two hours. Sometimes he just needs to be swaddled again, but it definitely has not been consistent in the early morning hours. And to be honest, I think morning is the most stressful time. Having to get everyone changed and dressed and make breakfast. Although it does help a ton that Jack can totally dress himself and whatnot. But yesterday Leo was up at 5 am to eat, but then wouldn't go back to sleep. Granted he had an awesome night of sleep - but I would much rather have him either wake up for the day at 6:30 or later - or just go back to sleep for 3 hours after his 5 am feeding. I suppose I can't have it all, it's nice to start to see light at the end of the tunnel and realize those teeny tiny newborn days of pretty much zero sleep are behind us.
Last week was filled with a bazillion doctor's appointments and I had another one yesterday. My hernia/diastasis surgery is scheduled for August 23. I'm super duper nervous about it. Mainly the recovery. But also I'm scared that my stomach is going to look completely jacked up with a huge scar running down the center. But it's something that has to get done. And maybe someday when we are millionaires I will pay to get a tummy tuck and fix all the nastiness of childbirth and stomach surgery! I will have to stay in the hospital overnight one or two nights. I'm hoping the recovery isn't awful and that I can back into our normal routine in a few days after I get home. Good thing we have awesome friends and family who will hopefully help us out with meals and babysitting. And hopefully Leo will be sleeping even more during that time so I can get some sleep and not have to have Tom do all of the feedings!
Jack had his last skating lesson yesterday. I am slowly starting to feel that fall is quickly approaching us. I'm excited to get into a routine again during the day, I hope Jack likes going to preschool every day and that it doesn't wear him out.
Here are some pictures of this week so far. PS at 5 weeks, Leo is wearing mostly 3 month clothing. Can you even believe it?!?!

Leo One Month
Leo turned one month old yesterday!
Today he had his one month check up. Here are his stats:
ONE MONTH
Height: 22 inches - 75%
Weight: 11 lbs 3 ounces - 75-90%
Head: 35.5 cm - 75%
Four Days Old:
Height: 21 inches - 95-98%
Weight: 7 lbs 15 ounces - 50-75%
Head: 35.5 - 75%
My boy is growing like a weed! He is already wearing some 3 month outfits. He wears size one diapers. And he's eating 3.5 - 4 oz every 3 hours. Sometimes it's closer to 2 hours. He's given us a few long stretches at night. Last night he ate around 11, then 2:30, then not until about 6. I really can't complain at all, especially since he falls right back to sleep at night. He loves being swaddled and he smiles for his brothers more than his mommy.
We love you so much Leo. Thanks for being such an amazing baby!
