The Cutest Kids in the World

This morning we went over to the Blairs! We had doughnuts for breakfast outside while Finn napped inside and we even got to stay for lunch! It was such a treat. The kids played so great together and I'm so glad that I brought my camera because I captured some really great moments! These girls are adorable!!! I've known their mom since I was in THIRD grade. Kelly is due with baby #3 in November. I forgot to ask her if I could take some naked preggo pictures. HA HA. Maybe next time Kel. I'm hoping they have a boy because Jack and Finn need more boys to play with and I have a million bins of boy clothes to send their way. But if they are blessed with another girl, well, there is no doubt in my mind she will be just as beautiful as her sisters!

This or That?

About two weeks ago, both of my kids were sleeping until 8:15, sometimes even 8:45. That my friends is no longer the case. For the past week or so Jack has been up at 6:30 screaming twinkle twinkle at the top of his lungs. UGH! I know I have been spoiled with Jack's sleeping schedule since day 1, and 6:30 isn't even that bad. I mean if I was working a full time job, I know I'd have to be up way earlier than that. The only good news is that for the past two days, both of my kids have been taking close to a 3 hour nap! Yesterday at nap time, I was able to work for 2 hours and get a quick 45 min nap in myself. Obviously, I know this will only be the case for probably a few more days - if that. So I will soak it up as much as I can right now! I really do enjoy actually having a morning, but I just hate waking up!!! I used to think I'd rather sleep in and only have my kids take a 1 hr nap, but now that I've experienced these 2.5-3 hour naps, I think I can deal with waking up a little earlier. How much do you want to bet now that I've blogged about this, my kids won't nap at all today? HA. We have started putting Finn in his crib to sleep at nighttime. It's amazing not having to plug in that stupid monitor too! Although it's frustrating because when he does wake up for a few minutes crying, I can't just shut the monitor off - and I worry he will wake Jack. Not to mention, Jack wakes Finn up in the mornings by his extremely loud singing. (side note, Jack has now started making up his own lyrics to the tune of twinkle twinkle - hilarious!).  I am definitely going to keep putting Finn down for his naps in the basement, because Jack is not a very sound sleeper during naptime.

Speaking of naps - our entire road is getting torn up very soon. All of the surrounding streets are gravel right now and I'm just waiting to get blocked into my house. I am NOT looking forward to this and although the trucks will entertain Jack to no end during the day, I have a feeling it will be too loud to nap. The other day our house was literally shaking and they were working on the road a block away. HELP!

My baby is going to be 6 months tomorrow. Can you believe it? I have to get a video of him scooting, it is so cute!

Who watched New Jersey Housewives last night? Danielle is soooo annoying. Seriously, she is the most annoying housewife of them all. I hate her. And the bachy? Ali, cut your hair! And please, for the love of God - choose Roberto!

Flash Me Friday - Where You Relax!

Want to join in on Flash Me! Fridays? Just hop on over to Jen's Blog and leave the link to your blog. It's FUN!

This Flash Me Friday is - where do you relax?

That's easy! We relax downstairs.

No wonder I watch so much tv. Look at this thing.

Photobucket
Since I work online from home every night, you can usually find me in this corner spot sprawled out with my laptop.

The fireplace down here was one of the selling points on this house. We love the looks of it and love using it during the fall and winter!

Photobucket
This is Jack's favorite spot, when Dora isn't on the tv.

I love my Willow Tree collection!

I do not love what my spaz dog has done to our couches. UGH

So, where do YOU relax?

Have a great weekend. Don't forget to dance! haha

Wednesday Night Double Dates

For the past month or two, Tom and I have been going on double dates with Bren and Lindsay. Last night we decided to go to Toby Keith's I love this Bar & Grill.

Lindsay decided to drive Bren's chair for a little bit. ha ha ha.

Then we went back to my parent's house and played Just Dance on the Wii. It was hilarious. To everyone's surprise, Tom went undefeated. Which just boggles my mind. I was just awful. At one point I think Lindsay had like 12,000 points and I only had 4,000. SAD, I thought I had a little rhythm. We can strap the remote on Brendan's hand and he can do it too. He says it is super hard and a really good work out.

If you've never seen Little Miss Sunshine, I highly suggest you rent it. This movie is one of my all time favorites. Here is a clip of my favorite part!

Family Dinners

Family dinners are important to me. I've read so many statistics about how important they are for your children. For the most part, growing up, my family ate dinners together. Even though my mom claims she is a bad cook, she's really not. And even if we were just having frozen pizzas, for the most part we would eat as a family. Tom grew up with family dinners as well. So it's something we agree upon that is important. But here is where I struggle...Tom has a job that allows him to be his own boss and set his own hours. However, some nights he meets with clients after they are done working, which means he doesn't get home until close to 6:30. And my kids go to bed between 7 and 7:30. So on these nights, we make daddy's dinner plate and keep it in the microwave for him to eat when he gets home and go on with our dinner routine ourselves. If this happens once a week, it's not the end of the world. But what is SO hard for me is hockey season. Tom won't come home until 6:30 every night, not including game nights when he won't be home after bedtime. Last year this wasn't a huge ordeal for me. I was pregnant the beginning of hockey season so I was eating at all hours of the day and just making Jack whatever I could scrounge up. And once Finn was born, well...let's not go back down that path OK? ha ha. I'm sure as my kids get older it will be easier to push dinner time back a little bit. But I've always strived to make dinner time family time. When Jack started eating baby food, I would time it out so I could feed him baby food while we ate dinner so we were all eating together (I know he was only 5 months and had no clue, but that's just me being Molly) and I've done the same thing with Finn. Some nights when Tom isn't around for dinner - I am too busy dealing with Finn's baby food and Jack feeding Bailey that I don't have time to eat myself.  I have one question for all of you with kids in booster seats or high chairs that are strapped onto the chairs...How in the WORLD do you keep the chairs clean? The back of Jack's chair is so sticky and has food stuck all over it. I take the high chair off at least once a week to clean the real chair and the next day it is back to being just disgusting. What gives?

On the Move

Finn decided that he wants to start crawling at the ripe old age of 5 1/2 months. He's not getting anywhere super fast or anything, but I have this horrible feeling it's on the horizon. Jack did the army crawl starting at 6 months until about 8 or 9 months and then started running at 10 months. I don't remember Jack ever getting up and rocking on his knees this early though. Lord help me.

Jack even shared his vacuum with Finn this morning.

And here are my boys Saturday morning before their swimming lessons - which were great by the way! Finn was so little, ha ha. But I wasn't afraid to start dunking him under water. Jack had fun at the beginning and then when I attempted the back float with him, all hell broke loose. We never had to get out of the water though, he just screamed bloody murder. He went under the water once I believe. Tom is looking forward to watching them this Saturday morning. So far I'm really impressed with FOSS Swimming School.

Small Successes and more

1. I bought some photo editing software this week (Lightroom) and I have no idea how to use it! ha. I'm hoping that if I can play around with it enough, I will start getting used to it and figuring it out. I bought it with some money I made selling my old camera off of Ebay. But then today, I get an email saying there is something wrong with the camera and he's sending it back. Whatever, there is nothing wrong with it and I plan on re-listing it on Ebay when I get it back in my hands (after double checking there is nothing wrong with it of course)!

2. I took Jack and Finn to the new library yesterday. I got a book on Lightroom and I got Jack a book called "Pacifiers are not Forever" hahaha. He doesn't seem to be getting the point of that book though. HAHA, it was worth a shot.

3. I went shopping last night with a friend at the MOA looking for a cute, sassy black dress to wear to a bachelorette party I have coming up in a week. I found not one, but TWO dresses for a grand total of (drum roll please) $35!!!! That's right. I'm too embarrassed to tell you the name of the store I bought it at though. No people, it wasn't DEB.

So it's been a good week. We are so busy. I don't think we have a spare weekend until the middle of August. Swimming lessons start on Saturday, of course Tom will be out of town for the first one! Oh well. My mom bought Jack these two Toy Story Dolls, Buzz and Woody, and they are HUGE. Like 2 1/2 feet tall. Jack loves them. He had to have both of them sitting on the table during lunchtime the other day. Funny. I guess I could give you a visual of them, huh?

Ariana Lynn Starkey is ONE!

We got to have our niece, Ari, spend the night on Friday night. We had a great time.  All three kids were sleeping by 8 PM. (don't get your hopes up about us having a 3rd though people - it was for one night, you can do anything for a night :-)). I decided that for her first birthday present, I would take some pictures of her and frame them for her parents. At first I wasn't sure I was going to get any good ones, but as time went on and once Tom got home things got a lot easier and I ended up taking over 300. It was so hard to choose which ones to frame. I made the first picture an 8x10 and then the following three I put in a frame that held 3 5x7 pictures. The other ones are just a few of my faves. Is this tutu not the cutest thing you have ever seen? And don't even get me started on this headband. Happy 1st Birthday Ari!!!
