Well so far I've gotten pretty positive feedback about my new blog layout. I am extremely happy with it. I cannot take all of the credit for it though! After I started playing around with my blog background and settings, I became extremely frustrated and could not figure out what I wanted. I finally came across Becca's blog design website called Jumping Jax Designs and wrote her an email and the rest is history.
I purchased this cartoon picture from a separate website, but Becca totally put my spin on it. In fact, this is the original picture I purchased.
Becca was able to change me from this brown hair brown eyed beauty into someone who somewhat resembles me. She also changed Finn and cloned him and made it big brother Jack. I also wanted the high rise buildings out of the background since I don't live in the city. Didn't she do a fab job?
Before I really started blogging, I thought people were crazy for paying for their blog designs. The truth is, this is my outlet during the day. I guess it's one of my hobbies too, as sad as that sounds. I wanted my blog to be a website that I loved to go to or loved to contribute to. I would get frustrated with my picture headings after about a month because of how much the boys change. Sure one day I will get rid of the bottle on this main picture and make it not so little kiddish, but that won't be for a while. And when it does happen, you can bet I will be contacting Becca.
Some might ask, where is Tom in this picture? Well I couldn't find any super cute pictures of families and when I talked to him about it, after he rolled his eyes telling me I was insane for discussing my blogging issues - he said it was fine he wasn't in the picture and he would prefer not to be. Can you blame the guy?
Quick question - do you guys like reading the Flash Me Fridays and like it when bloggers have something they do or blog about each week? I'm thinking of doing a little more of those, but I'm not sure. I definitely don't want to take away from blogging about my boys and posting pictures, but I feel like I need a little bit more structure and/or creativity with this blog. Help me out!
I like the FMFs, obvi. And I think it's funny that Tom poo-pooed your blogging issues. If I were more computer savvy, I would have a sweet blog. But since I'm not and Ryder isn't a fan of long naps, I never have time to sit and figure it out :)
ReplyDeleteI like the FMFs, and I know others like reading them on mine, so I vote to keep them :) Love the blog design! Very cool and personalized.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not stopping the FMF's! I love them too!!! I'm thinking of doing some other fun things during the week too, we'll see....
ReplyDeleteYour new blog design is VERY cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for the shout out! I loved doing it and think it came out really cute! Your family is adorable, cartoon AND pictures! :)
