Apple Orchard, MN Fall Walks, Potty Training

This past weekend was GORGEOUS here in Minnesota. On Saturday we decided to venture out to our favorite apple orchard/pumpkin patch. The apples were a huge disappointment, but we had heard about that in advanced. We still managed to swipe up a few apples off of the ground. (ps I just have to say that dressing boys gets SO MUCH MORE FUN when they get older). Girls are always fun to dress, but there is not a lot of super duper cute baby boy clothes. This definitely changes as they get older!

The hunt for the best pumpkin begins:

This one looks a little heavy for Jack, no?

This one looks a little bit more like Jack's size:

I know it looks like Jack hasn't grown a ton, but last year this chart was on a hill :-)

Moving on...

There is nothing like taking walks after dinner in the Fall here in MN. It's our favorite thing to do!

And now for the potty training talk:

For the past few weeks, I've been getting ready to really potty train. We've tried going, we've talked about it, blah blah blah. I think a month ago I even put Jack in big boy pants just to get him uncomfortable when he would go potty, and he didn't even care that he was peeing himself. So I was like, nope - he's not ready. Well this past weekend we tried again and he showed a lot more interest, but was still having a lot of accidents. Today I decided I would try again and if he had a lot more accidents I would try again next week. So after lunch we headed to target and I got supplies to make this:

So we made him a potty chart! Nothing organized, just a poster board that Jack colored and he puts stickers on when he goes potty. Every time he sits on the potty, he gets a sticker. If he goes pee, he gets two stickers to put on the chart and if he poops he gets three. He also gets one m&m when he pees and two when he poops. We didn't have one accident after his nap today and he went potty probably 8 times before bedtime and one little poop too. I was SO proud of him. It's funny because this morning after I got back from Target, I was talking to a girlfriend about how I just wanted it to click with him. I wanted him to get that he needs to tell me he has to go and then sit on the potty and go. Well - it's amazing what stickers, candy, and good ole bribing can do. I feel SO lucky to have amazing friends that have gone through this before to help me out and give me incredible suggestions :-)

PS - I started my 10 week boot camp this morning! No processed foods all day. How am I doing? I'm starving!
