Biggest Loser

This post isn't about the show, it's about how I feel like I'm on the show, The Biggest Loser. Seriously, my workouts at Velocity Sports are ridiculously intense. Every night I come home and Tom asks me what I did and he gets jealous because it reminds him of his hockey training. Here is just a little glimpse into my workout sessions. I'll tell you about last nights because it's the freshest one in my mind.

I arrive at about 5:10, my workout begins at 5:15. There are approximately 10 people in this class - the previous classes have ranged from 4 people to about 11 is the max. Half of the "gym" is about 40 yards of a turf football field. We start our workout with a light jog down and back on the turf. Then we do random stretches and lunges and squats for 10-30 yards and sprint back. After our 5 minute warm up we are ready to go. Last night, Derrick, (the trainer) whipped out the rope ladder and we did random two steps in them for 6 minutes. This burns your legs. (on Saturday morning I did these with a weight vest on). Then we partnered up and grabbed a 5 lb circle weight. The first partner did the random weight lift and/or lunge that Derrick instructed for 10 times and then sprinted down 30 yards and back. When our partner crossed the line, the other partner would begin their 10 sets. We did this for ten times. Water break. Then we went on to stations. There were 5 stations, 2 people at a station, 1 minute at each station. The first station we jumped onto a high block for a minute straight. Then we pulled 25 lbs on a sled weight down and back as many times as we could for a minute. Then we flipped a HUGE tire as many times as we could with our partner for a minute. Then we did sit ups with a weight ball. Then the last station was push ups on a ball under one arm and rolled it to the next arm for a minute. We were all DYING after these stations. Derrick told us to get water and that we were going to the stations AGAIN!!! Holy Mother of God I was so sore. But it felt great! I'm finally starting to not be so sore. Last week I could barely turn my steering wheel while driving, I had a hard time picking up Finn, and I didn't even bother pulling the baby gate a part because my arms wouldn't work. HA. Can you now see why I feel like I'm on the biggest loser. Although the people in my classes are NOT overweight - they are all ripped and run marathons. ha.

So now I should probably go to bed since I'm working out tomorrow at 5:30 AM. AHHHHHHHH.
