On Saturday morning Tom ran the half marathon. I opted out of it this year and just ran the 5 K. Tom finished with a better time than last year, 1:51 or something. And I finished the 5 K in 29 minutes. That might sound not very fast to most of you, but for me it's a great feeling averaging less than 10 minutes for a mile. Maybe I'll do the half next year. Maybe not. I don't know! Here are some pics! All these pics taken from my phone. Even though I'm not in any running photos - I swear I ran.

On May 20th, Tom and I will celebrate being married for five years. Can you believe it?! I know five years seems like nothing compared to our parents, or even our grandparents - but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right?
When thinking about how we should spend our five year anniversary, I had a fantastic idea. I wanted to take care of all the planning. So many times, Tom surprises me with little gifts. Adding something fun and exciting to our house. Buying me a special something just because. Tom is definitely the spender in our family. He has to force me not to buy all Target brand clothing. I like to go shopping with him because he's the type of person who is like, just buy it Molly! Where I'm as cheap as can be (thanks Dad). haha. Anyways back to our anniversary plans. My plan was to keep EVERYTHING a surprise. I wasn't even going to tell Tom the date that we were celebrating. This is huge for me because I have a really hard time containing my excitement about things. Well that and I have absolutely no patience what so ever.
A few months back I had heard on the radio that Tim McGraw was coming to St. Paul. I then saw that the date was May 14th. This is when the lightbulb went off in my head to take the reigns and to plan our celebration. So I bought two tickets, coordinated with my mom to watch the boys and I was going to keep everything hush hush. Easy enough right? Wrong! A few weeks later Tom got an email from his aunt saying they wanted to celebrate his dad and grandpa's birthdays on May 14th. Tom forwarded me the email and told me to mark our calendar. Shoot! So unfortunately, I was not able to keep the date a surprise. I couldn't tell Tom that we couldn't go to his dad and grandpa's birthday party without a reason. So I just told Tom, sorry we can't go to that - this is the night we are celebrating our anniversary. At this time I still thought it would be easy to keep everything a surprise. Wrong again. Fricken K102 radio announced every five minutes that Tim McGraw was coming to concert on May 14th. I knew Tom listened to that station and I knew he would eventually put two and two together. And on Thursday night, he broke the news to me, he knew we were going to the concert. The good news was that he was still excited. The even better news was that he didn't know where we were staying over night or where we were eating dinner.
I ended up booking us a room at the St. Paul hotel and making dinner reservations at The St. Paul Grill. We LOVED this hotel. Neither one of us is very familiar with St. Paul. Since we grew up in a Northwest Suburb, we are more familiar with Minneapolis. But let me tell you - I love St. Paul. It's gorgeous!
Not the best shot of the hotel - I was in the car. ha

After getting settled into the hotel and freshening up, it was time for dinner and the concert! Dinner was fantastic. We had bread and bruschetta for starters. Beer cheese soup. Tom had the New York Strip and I had the lobster. Split some potatoes. And finished it up with our favorite dessert ever, creme brulee. We were both hurting we were so full. We had to do 2 laps around the Excel center before we sat in our seats because we thought we were going to explode.
So excited!
Celebrating Five Years!
Tim McGraw was everything we hoped he'd be, and more! Our seats were incredible. They ended up making a second stage in the very center of the floor. And since we were in the 6th row on the first level, we could almost smell him! He came out from the top of a section and walked down the stairs. That was so neat to watch! I wish I could have touched him.
