Here I am at 37 weeks. Don't mind the sticker on my boob.
Photo Thoughts: How can I still be standing and not toppling over? No wonder strangers give me a double take when I'm out in public.
Appointment Updates: This morning I had my GBS (group B strep) test. Hoping that comes back negative, but it's not a huge ordeal if it is positive. My doctor also checked me and I was dilated to a 2! Doesn't mean labor is coming anytime soon, but at least my body is progressing. I walked around about a 3 with Finn for at least 2 weeks and I still had to be induced with him. But again, it's better than being a zero FOR SURE!
Size of baby: I don't know what "fruit" I am this week, but according to my ultrasound last week - if the baby really was 6 lbs 11 oz last week, that would make the baby roughly 7 lbs right about now. I'm super curios to see how accurate that "growth" ultrasound is.
Cravings: Depends. I am definitely craving wine and beer, but that's a given I guess. Some nights I have a huge sweet tooth. Other nights I just want popcorn. I've been drinking gallons of liquids during the day too. Which leads to urinating an absurd amount.
What I love: I love that my body is progressing for the real deal.
What I'm looking forward to the most: Holding my baby boy in my arms.
Worries: I'm nervous about how I will go into labor. With Jack, I started getting contractions and had to time them and all that jazz. With Finn I was induced. So this time - maybe my water will break?!?!
What is different this time around: My lower back pain is crazy. It's so bad sometimes I feel like I might collapse when walking. I attribute it to running around after two kids and not really being able to rest during the day.
Symptoms: Contractions throughout the day - nothing serious or steady though. They are a lot more painful this time around too.
Sleep: Horrible. By the time bedtime rolls around, I can barely walk. It hurts to get into a good position and it hurts to turn throughout the night. And trying to get up to go to the bathroom is nearly impossible, but with all the fluids I'm drinking I can't ignore the need to pee.
Movement: The movement is crazy and it's kind of uncomfortable because there is practically no room left for the baby to move around.
The belly: could take anyone out. Watch out!
Milestones: I'm technically full term. That's a huge milestone if you ask me.
Best moment of the week: Well it's just the beginning of the week - but realizing that baby is coming soon is kind of surreal.
I think I've realized that I am kind of in denial that the baby is coming SOON. Like, I don't let myself go there in thinking about how crazy our lives are about to get. I'm extremely excited to meet this little guy and see how he fits into our family and how he makes our family complete - but the realist in me (which I 100% admit to being a realist, which by the way is way different than a pessimist) knows what is really about to happen. Ready or not...it's happening.
In not baby news....Jack started his Lil Sports Sampler this morning. They are doing soccer for the first three weeks and then t-ball. Here are some pics before and after.
