- Last night, Tom and I both got maybe 3 hours of sleep. MAYBE. Finn would not sleep. We put him to bed around 9:30, not unusual. Then Tom and I went up to bed around 10:45 and finished "watching" the march madness games on his iPhone, ha ha. We heard Finn, so Tom rocked him and came back to bed - probably 3 times. Then by 12 we thought he was out. Nope, 12:45 he was up. I went in there and rocked him every 20 minutes until 2 or so. I am very stubborn about feeding him in the middle of the night when he's slept through the night before. But I caved in at 2. He ate like 2 ounces, not even. Then 4 AM, he's up AGAIN. ugh. Tom fed him again and rocked him. 6 AM, up again. I got up and put him in his swing downstairs and he was golden until Jack woke up. BLAHHHH
- So as I was dozing in out of sleep last night, I thought maybe I should start trying to have Finn nap in his crib instead of his swing. HA. Easier said than done. I tried rocking Finn up in his room, but Jack would not leave us alone and he was being so loud. I swear I was about to slap him silly. Then once I got Finn down, Jack would run upstairs and knock on his door. OMG. So we are napping in the swing again today until I can figure out how I want to handle this.
- Yesterday I sat up in the bathroom with Jack for a good 30 minutes trying to get him to just SIT on his Elmo potty chair. Finally he did and we read books on there - he was naked while doing so. I'm not gonna lie - bribes were definitely made. "If you sit on Elmo, we can have some yogurt raisins" ha ha. So then this morning, he goes "Elmo Potty" and I said, do you want to go potty on Elmo? OK he says. So we go upstairs and take off our pjs and diaper and he sits right on the potty. Then Jack insists I leave the bathroom and he shuts the door. So I come downstairs to change Finn and Jack opens the bathroom door and starts yelling UGH OH! UGH OH! So I thought he peed on the rug in the bathroom. So I go upstairs and the rug is dry, I look in the potty chair and HE PEED IN THE CHAIR!!! After I told him it was a GOOD thing and praised him and gave him a million high fives, he was super excited. This led to wanting to go on the Elmo Potty every 5 seconds (he hasn't peed on it anymore yet though). But he can't just take his pants off, he has to be completely naked. Go figure.
- My hair brush is M.I.A. I cannot find it anywhere and I know Jack was playing with it. The only alternate brush is a baby brush and I just don't think that is going to cut it.
So that has been my Friday in a nutshell. So I have a feeling we will be moving the potty chair downstairs and having Jack just be naked all day, hey whatever works, right? And Finn just needs to get his act together and start sleeping at night. Seriously. For whatever reason I just don't have the patience that I did with Jack. I just hate not having a set schedule - it's just not me. But I know Finn isn't even 3 months old and sometimes I expect too much out of him. He's at that weird stage where you want to play with him, but he can't really do anything. So anyway, here's to hoping for a weekend of sleep filled nights. Have a good one everyone.
Oh my goodness!!! Yay for the Elmo potty, at least! Good luck - I am the same way with wanting set schedules, I'm sure they'll get there soon enough :) Hang in there!
