Seven Quick Takes

1. Later today Finn has his 2 month check up. I'm curious to see how big he is, I feel like he is bigger than Jack was at this point, but I really have no idea. I'm also anxious to talk to the dr about some of Finn's issues - like his spitting up, his gas, all that fun stuff. I will try to post his stats later on this afternoon.

2. I've started looking at double jogging strollers, blah! They are so expensive. We have a long graco regular stroller, but I can't see the front and I've almost knocked Jack into so many things. ha. I'm nervous about the side by side joggers that they won't fit through doorways. Some of the double ones you can attach the infant carseat, which would be golden for right now. I don't know how picky I can be though. I think we'll try to look on Craigslist and Once Upon A Child first, but I want a good one that will last us until we don't need a stroller anymore.

3. I bought Jack an Elmo potty chair when he was 18 months, thinking I would just get ahead of the game and get him used to seeing it and maybe he will start randomly going on it. Well he is now 26 months and hasn't once gone potty on his chair or the regular toilet. I don't think you can force a kid to go to the bathroom, but I do think the parents need to coach kids through it and frankly up until now, I haven't had the time, energy or patience for it. And when I think about all that is going to go into potty training, I just want to keep my kids in diapers until they are like 10. I'm not going to start anything super soon or anything. Maybe some weekend here when we don't have a lot going on I will just let Jack go diaper-less and see what happens (I will be sure to have carpet cleaner on hand, eeeeewww). Any tips for potty training boys???

4. I started working again last week and this week I actually got my 20 hours in! I was pretty happy about it, but it is SO hard to get my hours in. Since Finn still sleeps a ton during the day, I can usually time Jack's nap so that Finn will be sleeping too. So I can usually get close to 2 hours in the afternoon. Then depending on if Tom is home at night or not, I can log in around 7 (Jack's bedtime) and work until about 10. But if Tom isn't home, I work around Finn's schedule. So when am I supposed to 'me' time? Well I've realized that with two kids, there is no such thing as 'me' time. I've gotten good about having Jack help me with vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms, mopping, and doing the laundry so that's how I keep the house up - but it 'aint easy that's for sure. I have a feeling it's going to get harder as Finn gets older. Well harder and easier, if that makes any sense. Momnesia.

5. Right now Jack has our little dirt devil hand vacuum and he is vacuuming the walls. ha ha it is so funny. Now he is doing the kitchen floor. Keep it up buddy. I hear the power running low though, which means a temper tantrum is near.

6. So let's talk about the new dancing with the stars cast. I cannot believe Jake is going to be on that show. I am willing to bet money that nasty Vienna will be in the audience every week too, barf. The only bad thing is that I really like Jake's partner, Chelsie from So You Think You Can Dance. Kate Gosselin, are you kidding me?? She is ridiculous. What are her kids doing while she is there? Spending time with their quality father, oh wait...Those poor children. I have a feeling the pussycat dolls singer is going to be pretty good. Pamela Anderson will probably be out of control, I can't see her having that much coordination, but maybe she'll surprise me. I bet that skater Evan will be super good. Ochocinco will be fun to watch, he'll probably be good, and with his partner being cheryl - they are bound to go far. Shannen Doherty - nasty.

7. Jack just broke the dirt devil and is screaming because the pile of dirt fell out everywhere. ughhhhhhhhh.

  1. Oh Molly, no one can keep it "all" together! Good luck at the appt. sounds like Finn is doing great! And you are doing a great job at being a working/sah Mommy :) Potty training boys stinks to say the least. Landon has been "trained" on #1 for 6 months but still has accidents when he goes #2 in his pull up and underwear do not help him go more or less, boys are just tougher to train. Haile did it in 3 days straight never had an accident after that and she was 2 1/2. Just depends on the kid, but I say go for it when you have the time to do it and have Tom show him how "cool" it is to use the potty, that always helps.

Oh and as far as DWTS BOO, I think the cast this season sucks for the most part!
