Jack's Best Friend and Last Day Pre-K Video

Ever since the first day of school, Jack and Preston have been BFF's. It's quite comical. And they actually kind of resemble each other. When we look at Jack's baby book, sometimes Jack says "Hey, that's Preston!" And I'm like, no that's you! ha.

Maple Grove ECFE has an end of the year picnic every year and this was the first year we decided to go. Preston and his family were going to be there, so Jack was extra pumped. We had a great time. They saw Clifford (Jack was the only one who wanted to go up to him), they sat in a garbage truck, police car, and ambulance. And we played at the park for a long time.

Here is a video from Jack's end of the year program. Of course he is standing right next to Preston. Next year Preston and Jack will be attending Preschool 5 days a week. I feel bad for their teachers. HA. And Jack and Preston will also be playing t-ball and soccer together in two weeks. So much fun!

Memorial Day Weekend 2012

So after this weekend and all of my picture taking, it made me miss blogging. Is that weird? I took SO many more pictures when I blogged. And it's really fun for me to re-read things from the past 3 years on it. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. Tom is so anti, but at the same time if it's something I really want to do - I'll do it. But do I keep it private for only select readers? Sometimes the fun of blogging is to get comments from others, but also I don't want creeps creeping either. What are your thoughts?

So this weekend was super! Jack got a gator tractor from the Burg's - their kids have outgrown it and he's been in heaven ever since. Finn doesn't really like it that much yet. Sometimes he will ride in the back.

On Saturday we went to go visit some friends who had a baby about a month ago, Spanky and Mel. They had a little boy, Wyatt. He is just the cutest thing. He is a true bald baby - not even any fuzz at the top or anything. I love it! He projectile vomited when I was burping him. Finn was a puker and a projectile vomiter, but seriously I had never seen anything like this before in my life. It was hilarious!!! haha.

This is Greta, she's Wyatt's older sister.

Then on Sunday we spent the entire day at my parent's pool. Jack seriously swam from 11:30 AM until 5:30 PM. We had to force him out of the pool to eat and warm up. The pool was super warm and it was like 90 degrees outside, but still his lips were turning purple and he was shivering. ha. He had a blast.

The BEST thing about boys, don't have to go inside to pee. As long as we can keep this a "just at Grandma's house" rule I think we'll be OK.

34 Week Update

Well, here I am. Huge as ever. Waddling? Check. Peeing every 5 seconds? Check. Groin twinges? Check. Feeling like the head is going to fall out? Check. Definitely at the end of pregnancy.

I am officially up 22 lbs. Not horrible, but it's not like I'm excited about it either. Baby's head is still down, hoping it stays that way. The dr said sometimes little buggers can flip last second. I think by 36 weeks, it's locked and loaded. haha.

We got a part time babysitter for this summer and she started this week. When I say part time, I'm talking like 6-8 hours a week tops. But those few hours of freedom feel fricken amazing. It doesn't feel amazing having to swing through the cash machine every week, but you know what? Some things in life are just worth splurging on and for the sake of my family and my sanity, we decided this would be ok. The boys LOVE her, Kathryn, is her name. Yesterday after my doctor's apt I had 2.5 hours to do whatever the flip I wanted to. I sat outside at Starbucks for a while and then I ventured over to Babies R Us and got the rest of the essentials for #3's arrival. Holy buckets I forgot how small newborn diapers are. Oh my goodness people! SO sweet. I bought some bomb diggity breathable swaddle blankets, some nuks, some breast milk storage bags, a play yard mat, yadda yadda yadda. The newborn clothes are in the washing machine right now being washed with Dreft detergent. Which by the way, I've never bought before. Good lord, it smells heavenly. Like total baby smell. I want to wash my clothes in Dreft and smell like a newborn baby. And we FINALLY got the nursery complete last weekend. Want to see pictures?????

It's Leo. No turning back now.

The awkward cubby.

Organized closets make me smile. Notice the blanket on the rocker - LOVE it!

Jack finished up his first year of preschool today. I loved his school and I am so happy we decided to send him. He will definitely miss it this summer. But hopefully t-ball/soccer, skating lessons, and my parent's pool will keep him busy! Here is a picture of him and his best friend, Preston.

Boys Being Boys

Things I hear, witness, and say on a daily basis:

  • "Mom, our car is going faster than that car. We are winning! Go faster mom, go faster" - Jack every time we go anywhere in the car.
  • "Daddy's muscles are bigger than Jesus' muscles, right mom?" - Jack after preschool today.
  • "Finn, do NOT eat that bug"
  • "Finn, stop touching that frog"
  • "OMG Finn, put down the frog RIGHT now"
  • Who's taller, me or Finn? Who's taller - me or daddy? Who's taller....competitive much, Jack?
  • "Mom, why is Finn's penis so small?"
  • "Finn stop punching your brother"
  • "Jack quit kicking Finn"
  • "Mom, when the baby comes out can me and Finn wrestle him?"
  • "Is my butt going to crack if you spank it really hard?"
  • "Mom, Finn just bit me"
  • When we were outside this morning, Finn saw an ant. He goes "I kill it, I kill it" so I said ok Finn stomp on it and kill it. So he did. Then he kneels down puts his face right next to it. Picks it up and brings it over to me. ummmm, thanks?

A long time ago when Jack was on a showering kick - he asked Tom if he could shower with me. (I think I had just announced I was going to hop in the shower). Tom, without thinking, replies, "No Jack, we only shower with boys." - BAH HA HA HA HA HA HA.

The other day Jack was asking Tom questions about the baby. Jack said "What is the baby going to eat when he comes out?" Tom replied "The baby will drink milk because it will be too small to eat food." Jack said, "Like the milk in the fridge?" Tom responded, "yes." HAHAHAHAHA.

Oh these boys.

32 weeks

8 months down, 2 to go! Whoo hoo. Today I had my 32 week appointment. Weighed in and LOST half a pound! Pretty pumped about that considering last weigh in was ridonkulous.  I treated myself to Wendy's for lunch afterwards. Baby's head is still down, so I hope it stays that way. I'm pretty sure it will.

The baby has been moving LIKE CRAZY. I can't believe how big I am getting. Operation nursery is almost complete. Tom patched up the holes in the wall that I made by trying to hang up some shelves. haha. I had been begging him to do it for weeks and one day I was like, screw it I'll do it myself. Yeah, that was not the best idea. haha. Now we have to repaint this little nook area and hang shelves, a few wall decorations, buy some nuks and diapers, then have the baby!!

We had a little battle with the flu bug and Jack last week. I'm not really sure how or why the rest of us were spared from it, but I'm thanking my lucky stars. Maybe it was because I lysoled everything in sight and everything that Jack touched. Or that I washed the sheets and towels with bleach like 5 times. It was no fun. It was our first puking episode as parents and I think we did a good job handling it. Poor Jack was so scared, he did not like throwing up (who does). But it was a long 24 hours. I'm just thankful that he could actually hold it in to get to the toilet. I tried putting a bucket by him, but he insisted on getting up every time. He's such a lil trooper.

I have some ridiculous videos of Jack and Finn. They are fricken hilarious. I'll try to upload them to YouTube soon.

I was reading my old blog and I started to really miss blogging. I seriously love looking back on my old posts. But at the same time, I just felt like sometimes I was sharing too much - or that people would think they knew us when really they don't. But it's more fun to blog when you know people are actually reading what you write too. Of course Tom is like don't start again Molly, don't do it. He is SO anti anything social media based. I'm torn.

As I was looking through it, I found two pictures. One when I was pregnant with Jack and one with Finn at the same time - around 32 weeks. So I had Tom snap a pic in the same shorts and a similar tank. Here is the collage...
