Crib, Big Boy Bed, back to Crib

Yesterday when Jack woke up from his nap, I decided to do something crazy. Finn was still sleeping, so I thought I would show Jack that we could take his crib railing off of the front and make a big boy bed! I got him all excited and he loved jumping into his bed all on his own. We kept talking about it all day and when Tom came home, after dinner - Jack showed him his new big boy bed. But then after the pjs were put on, the teeth were brushed, the books were read and the nuks were in his hand - he wanted nothing to do with that big boy bed. I tried to tuck him in and tell him goodnight, I love you. But he just started crying really hard and he kept asking for the rail to be put back up. Please? Please? He asked ever so nicely. How could I resist? So I said, ok Jack - you want your railing back up? And he got a big smile and said OK!! So we got it and put it back on. Then he gave me a kiss and said ni-night mommy, lub you.

So I think for just a while longer, I can deal with Jack still being in a crib. In all honesty, I don't care and I don't think it's wrong. I was just ready to start the transition, I never thought he wouldn't be ready or that he would be scared. He's such a sweet boy.

  1. Love that you are letting him take his pace with this. Anything new is tough on them I think. Also love the new look to the page!

  2. Hey Molly, love your new template and blog setup...looks great! He is such a sweet boy and I think letting him take his time with his big boy bed is a very good idea. He will want to when he's comfortable.

Hope to see you guys this weekend!
